Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club Grand Reopening Ceremony Announced

Jackson Hole, WY June 29, 2006: The Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club announced today that the historic course will re-open on Friday, June 30, 2006 after a 5:00pm ribbon cutting ceremony presided over by Senator Grant Larson (president of the Wyoming senate). Redesigned by internationally famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., who also designed the original course in 1967 for Lawrence Rockefeller, the course has undergone $4.7 million in enhancements.

Course improvements include installation of a new high-efficiency irrigation system, renovation of 66 bunkers, construction of 20 new tee boxes for better playability for varying levels of ability, improved cart paths, the reconstruction of holes 1 and 15, a new driving range (opening next year) and on-course amenities.

“I am thrilled to be returning to Jackson Hole after 30 years, and to have a hand in enhancing this wonderful course. This has always been one of my favorite places and now that the Club has asked me to return and lead this project, it is as much an honor today as it was when Mr. Rockefeller first hired me in 1973”, said Robert Trent Jones Jr. last year when the project began.

Golf Digest has rated the Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club among the top ten resort courses in the nation. The natural beauty of the terrain creates a unique and challenging course. The Gros Ventre River, combined with strategically placed ponds, provides water hazards on 11 of the 18 holes.

This outstanding Par 72 championship course boasts a rating of 72.5 with a slope of 126 from the championship tees. The course measures 7,168 yards from the blue tees, 6,756 yards from the white tees and 6,036 yards from the red tees. The Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club is a Nonmetal spike golf course.
